Local Knowledge Beats the "Dead Sea" Label – See What’s Biting with Guide Dwayne Eckhart
Beltzville State Park - Carbon, PA
The recent evening sessions at Beltzville Lake State Park have proven once again that while the daytime bite may be tough, the night belongs to the anglers. Water temperatures are stabilizing, and we are seeing a significant increase in activity as the sun dips below the horizon.
Target Species Performance:
Hybrid Striped Bass & Walleye: We are successfully locating schools near deeper structure. The bite has been most consistent between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM.
Perch & Smallmouth Bass: These remain active along the shelf transitions. Guests using our provided spinning gear and light tackle are seeing steady action throughout the 3-hour and 4-hour trips.
Conditions & Tactics: With the lake traffic clearing out by early evening, the water has been calm, allowing for precise bait presentation. We have been utilizing a mix of live bait and specialized lures to mimic the natural forage moving through the area.
Guide’s Tip: Many locals struggle here during the day, but the transition to night fishing changes the game entirely. If you’ve found the "Dead Sea" frustrating in the past, an evening trip on the SeaArk provides a completely different perspective and much higher success rates.
Book Your Spot: Our calendar is filling up for the spring and summer months. Whether you want to target the Shad run on the river or stick to the lake for Striper Bass, now is the time to secure your departure.
Location: 2950 Poho Poco Drive, Forest Inn, PA Equipment: All gear and headlamps included. Remember to bring your Pennsylvania fishing license!
